Swimming Pool Contractors in Andhra Pradesh

Building and maintaining pools across the state — the Visakhapatnam coast, the Krishna and Godavari deltas, the Tirupati hospitality belt and inland Rayalaseema. Four very different building conditions, quoted four different ways.

Swimming pool contractors in Andhra Pradesh typically quote between ₹1,200 and ₹5,500 per square foot of water surface, and that spread reflects what each quotation includes rather than who is cheapest. A 12 × 24 ft family pool ranges from roughly ₹6 lakh to ₹15 lakh depending on soil, water table and equipment specification.

Andhra Pradesh Is Four Different Building Markets

Unlike most states, Andhra Pradesh has no single dominant city that defines how pools get built. A beachfront villa in Visakhapatnam, a farmhouse in the Krishna delta near Vijayawada, a hotel pool in Tirupati and a home in Kurnool face genuinely different problems.

Salt, water table, cyclone exposure, heat and water availability all change as you move across the state. We quote each one on its own terms.

1

Coastal Belt

Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Machilipatnam, Nellore, Bhimavaram. Salt-laden air, high water table and cyclone exposure. The most demanding conditions in the state for pool equipment.

2

Krishna & Godavari Deltas

Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Amaravati region. Alluvial soil, high ground water, and some of the hottest summers in India.

3

Tirupati & Hospitality Belt

Hotels, resorts and guest properties serving a constant pilgrim and tourist flow. Commercial usage patterns, turnover compliance, and pools that cannot afford downtime.

4

Rayalaseema

Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa, Nandyal. Semi-arid, hard rock in places, and genuine questions about water availability that deserve an honest answer before you build.

What Changes Across Andhra Pradesh

Cyclone exposure — the thing nobody quotes for

Andhra Pradesh has one of India’s longest coastlines and is among the most cyclone-exposed states in the country. If your property is anywhere along the coast from Srikakulam to Nellore, this affects your pool, and almost no contractor will raise it before you sign.

Four things need designing for it.

The equipment room matters most. Pumps, filters, chlorinators and electrical panels are the vulnerable part of a pool, and a flooded or wind-damaged equipment room is a far bigger repair than anything that happens to the shell. We site it above expected flood level where the plot allows, and specify sealed enclosures and proper electrical isolation.

Shade structures, pergolas and deck furniture need real anchoring, not decorative fixing. In a severe wind event, an unsecured pergola becomes a projectile that lands in the pool.

Drainage has to handle intense rainfall over a short period, not average annual figures. Deck falls, surface channels and overflow capacity all get sized accordingly.

And one thing worth knowing that surprises most owners: do not drain your pool before a cyclone. It sounds sensible and it is the opposite of correct. An empty pool in saturated ground can float — hydrostatic pressure lifts the shell out of the ground. The water inside is what holds it down. Keep it full, cut power to the equipment, and secure everything loose around it.

Salt air along the coast will decide your equipment budget

In Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Nellore, Bhimavaram and Machilipatnam, salt-laden air corrodes pumps, filters, light fittings, deck hardware, ladders and railings far faster than inland installations. Equipment that lasts eight years in Vijayawada may last three near the shore.

This is not an argument against building near the sea. It is an argument for specifying properly the first time. We use marine-grade or correctly coated hardware on coastal sites, design equipment rooms to keep salt air away from electricals, and set a realistic replacement schedule so you are not surprised in year four.

A quotation that uses the same equipment list for Vizag and Kurnool has not been thought about.

Delta soil and high water table

The Krishna and Godavari deltas — Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Bhimavaram and the surrounding mandals — sit on alluvial soil with ground water that can be close to the surface, particularly after the monsoon.

Two consequences. During construction, the excavation needs dewatering, and that is a real line item, not a rounding error. After construction, an empty pool can float for the same reason described above. The fix is a hydrostatic relief valve and correct perimeter drainage, and it costs very little at design stage and a great deal to retrofit.

Alluvial soil also has lower bearing capacity than the rock most Hyderabad pools sit on, so the shell design and reinforcement detailing are different. Again: a soil test, before quoting.

Heat, evaporation and Rayalaseema water

Vijayawada is among the hottest cities in India, regularly running past 45°C through April and May. Guntur, Kurnool and Nellore are not far behind.

That drives evaporation and moves pool chemistry faster than in milder climates. Chlorine burns off quicker under strong sun, so a dosing schedule that works elsewhere will leave an AP pool under-treated by the weekend.

In Rayalaseema — Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa, Nandyal — there is a further question worth asking honestly before you build. This is a semi-arid belt with real groundwater pressure. A pool is a long-term water commitment, and if your supply is a borewell under stress, that deserves discussing at the site visit rather than discovering in the second summer.

We will tell you if we think the water situation makes a smaller pool, or a pool with a cover and automated dosing, the more sensible build. A cover cuts evaporation substantially and most contractors do not mention it because it is
not a profitable line item.

Tirupati and the hospitality belt

Hotels and guest properties around Tirupati, Tirumala and the wider pilgrim corridor run on a different logic from residential pools.

Occupancy is constant rather than seasonal, so filtration has to be sized for sustained bather load rather than weekend peaks. Turnover rate compliance
matters. Finishes need to survive heavy continuous use rather than look good in a brochure. And downtime is directly expensive — a pool out of service for a week is a week of a listed amenity you cannot offer.

We build these to a committed handover date, plan refurbishment work around low-occupancy windows, and set up an AMC so problems get caught before guests find them.

Building across a large state

We are based in Hyderabad and we are straightforward about what that means for an Andhra Pradesh project.

Material logistics cost more at distance. Site supervision runs on a planned schedule rather than daily visits. Specialist trades are mobilised for defined windows.

What does not change is who does the work. The same in-house civil, waterproofing and MEP teams travel to AP sites. We do not hand the job to a
local subcontractor and send someone to inspect it afterwards.

We tell you the realistic supervision frequency at quotation stage rather than implying someone will be on site every morning.

What costs more in Andhra Pradesh specifically

Condition Where it applies Typical impact
Marine-grade equipment
Vizag, Kakinada, Nellore, Bhimavaram
Higher upfront, avoids replacement in year four
Dewatering during excavation
Krishna and Godavari deltas
Real line item, not a rounding error
Hydrostatic relief and drainage
High water table zones
Small at design stage, very costly to retrofit
Cyclone-rated equipment room and anchoring
Entire coastal belt
Modest addition, protects the expensive part
Rock excavation
Parts of Vizag, Rayalaseema
30 – 60% on excavation
Commercial-grade filtration
Tirupati hospitality belt
Sized for sustained load, not weekend peaks

Why One Quotation Says ₹1,200 and Another Says ₹4,500

Rates advertised across Andhra Pradesh start around ₹1,200 per square foot and run past ₹5,000. That is a four-fold spread on what looks like the same pool, and it confuses everyone.

A per-square-foot rate only means something once you know what sits inside it. Here is what a low rate commonly leaves out — and on the AP coast, several of these are not optional extras.

Line item Often excluded from a low rate What it costs you later
Soil investigation
Usually not done
Discovered mid-project, when you have least leverage
Dewatering
Quoted “as per actual”
A large surprise in delta districts
Hydrostatic relief valve
Frequently omitted entirely
An empty pool that floats out of the ground
Marine-grade equipment
Standard inland parts used on the coast
Corroded pumps and fittings by year three
Waterproofing layers
One coating instead of crystalline plus membrane
The most common cause of a leak in year three
Plumbing pressure testing
Skipped to save two days
A buried leak that cannot be located later
Filtration sizing
Standard pump regardless of volume
Water that never quite runs clear
Deck, coping and storm drainage
Quoted after the shell is done
Adds 5 to 12 percent late in the project

None of this means a cheaper quotation is dishonest. Plenty of contractors build sound pools at competitive rates. It means the comparison is only real when both quotations cover the same scope.

Ask every contractor four questions in writing. Is dewatering included or extra? Is a hydrostatic relief valve fitted? What grade of equipment, by make
and model? What waterproofing system, and where does the membrane go?

If a contractor will not answer those four in writing, you have learned something useful about how the project will run.

Our quotations are itemised before you sign. We would rather lose a job on transparent numbers than win one on a figure that changes later.

What We Do Across Andhra Pradesh

RCC Concrete Pools

Reinforced shells designed for the ground at your specific site — rock in Rayalaseema, alluvial soil in the deltas, coastal conditions on the shore.

Fiberglass & FRP Pools

Factory-moulded shells installed in two to four weeks, where access allows delivery and a standard size fits.

Coastal & Beachfront Pools

Marine-grade equipment, protected equipment rooms, cyclone-rated anchoring and storm drainage designed for the AP coast.

Hotel, Resort & Hospitality Pools

Filtration sized for sustained occupancy, turnover compliance, and refurbishment planned around low-occupancy windows.

Farmhouse & Villa Pools

Built to run unattended between visits. Automated dosing, timer circulation, oversized filtration.

Infinity & Overflow Pools

For elevated plots and coastal properties with a view. Balance tank sized from actual bather load.

Looking After Pools, పూల్ నిర్వహణ మరియు రిపేర్

Pressure testing, dye testing and structural inspection to find the cause, not patch the symptom.

Stripping failed treatment, crystalline waterproofing plus membrane at the joints, re-tiling and deck renewal.

Pumps and filters sized from actual volume. Variable-speed pumps, automated dosing, salt chlorinators.

Scheduled cleaning plus proper chemistry — pH, chlorine, alkalinity, hardness and TDS.

Coastal pools lose equipment faster. We replace with the right grade rather than the same parts that failed.

Weekly, fortnightly and monthly plans with genuine spares and emergency call-outs. Essential for hotels where a closed pool costs bookings.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a swimming pool cost in Andhra Pradesh?

Advertised rates across the state start around ₹1,200 per square foot and run past ₹5,000. A 12 × 24 ft family pool typically lands between ₹6 lakh and ₹15 lakh. The spread reflects what each quotation includes — soil testing, dewatering, equipment grade and waterproofing system all vary enormously. Ask for an itemised bill of quantities so you are comparing the same  scope.

No. This is the most common and most expensive mistake on the AP coast. An empty pool in saturated ground can float — hydrostatic pressure lifts the shell out of the ground. Keep the pool full, cut power to the equipment, secure or remove loose furniture and covers, and check the drainage around the deck beforehand.

Yes, and it is the main reason a coastal pool costs more to specify properly. Pumps, filters, light fittings, ladders and deck hardware corrode much faster near the sea. Equipment that lasts eight years inland may last three on the coast unless marine-grade or correctly coated components are used and the equipment room is designed to keep salt air out.

Yes, but it has to be designed for it rather than around it. The excavation will need dewatering during construction, and the finished pool needs a hydrostatic relief valve and correct perimeter drainage so it cannot float when empty. Both are inexpensive at design stage and very costly to retrofit.

Substantially. Filtration is sized for sustained occupancy rather than weekend peaks, turnover rate compliance applies, and finishes need to survive continuous use. We also plan refurbishment around low-occupancy windows, because a pool out of service is a listed amenity you cannot offer.

No. The same in-house civil, waterproofing and MEP teams travel from Hyderabad. What changes with distance is supervision frequency and material logistics, not who does the work — and we tell you the realistic supervision schedule at quotation stage.

Yes. A large share of our repair and AMC work is on pools built by other contractors. We inspect first and tell you what condition the pool is actually in, including when the honest answer is a small repair rather than a rebuild.
